Capital Area Early Childhood Regional Team

The Capital Area Early Childhood Regional Team leads strategic, cross-sector efforts to strengthen systems of support for young children and families across the Capital Area.

Who We Are

The Capital Area Early Childhood Regional Team serves as the workgroup responsible for advancing the Early Childhood priority area of the Capital Area Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). The team brings together partners from across sectors to coordinate strategies, review data, identify system gaps, and strengthen supports for young children and families across the region.

Members represent early care and education, healthcare, home visiting, family resource centers, behavioral health, and other child- and family-serving organizations working collaboratively to improve outcomes for children and families in the Capital Area.

What We Do

The Early Childhood Regional Team focuses on planning, coordination, and implementation of regional strategies. The team:
Advances early childhood goals identified in the Community Health Improvement Plan
Uses local data to inform priorities and decision-making
Identifies service gaps and opportunities for systems improvement
Aligns efforts across organizations to strengthen regional impact
Supports referral pathway development and cross-sector collaboration
A smaller planning team supports strategy development and coordination of coalition activities.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Early childhood experiences shape lifelong health, learning, and well-being. Coordinated, cross-sector action helps ensure children and families have access to the supports they need during the most critical years of development.

The Early Childhood Regional Team meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 2:00–3:00 PM.
